Research Question: How did Japan’s expansion attempt during its imperialistic era affect the country today?

Thesis Statement: Japan’s militaristic expansion occurred because they had very little resources but their attempt to expand ultimately backfired because they have bad relations with China as a result and they have much less influence in the world as a direct result of their attempt to expand

Topic Sentence #1 Japanese expansion occurred because they had very little resources, Their expansion included: They went to war with China three times once over Korea and Taiwan, once over Manchuria and once over a massive chunk of China, the Russo-Japanese war was fought over Korea and Japan went to war with several countries during World War Two for control of the pacific

Topic Sentence #2: Japan’s militaristic expansion ultimately backfired because Japan was devastated the last time it went to war. The US forced Japan to disarm and they lost resources from Korea, Taiwan and much of the South Pacific.

Topic Sentence #3: Japan has less influence in the world today as a result of its attempt to expand because Japan now  has a small military. Japan does not have any military bases anywhere and the small military Japan does have are very reliant on the U.S.A.

Great video Connor! I enjoyed learning so much about Japan’s history and how they once were a great empire. Your audio was very clear however it may have been in the beginning, to not have a crazy transition that seemed choppy. You delivered a large sum of information in a clear and organized fashion. Great job Connor.
